Paintball Tournaments
If your interest is Tournament ball then you've come to the right place. One of the reasons we have such a passion for paintball is the fact that it is so multi-faceted, with a good time to be had by everyone from a group of folks playing on a customer day for the first time, to a healthy recreational / scenario / club scene, to the speed and spectacle that is tournament paintball.
In the UK up to 300 paintball teams are active at any time. There are numerous Tournament Series available to play with local events held throughout the country most weekends, with several tournament promoters offering a range of 3-player, 5-player, and 7-player formats to teams. Virtually all tournament formats compose of games played in symmetrical arenas which utilise air filled obstacles under the generic term "SupAir Ball". (Check out some photos)
The highest level series currently running in the UK domestic scene is the Eclipse paintball association(EPA) which is run by the UKs official Paintball Association. All games are played at a customized facility in Ancaster, North Lincolnshire. This is a locked series, its pretty expensive, and plays a format which requires well structured and well organized teams.
The UK also hosts a round of the European major league Millennium-Series. This years event is in London on the weekend of 20-22/7/07.
Most teams begin their tournament journey at one of the regional events available from http://www.uk-masters.co.uk or www.nspl.co.uk - Both of these series are affordable, have divisions which cater for novice players, and have top level play on show in the higher divisions from many of the UKs top teams. You can also play any of the events from these two series without having to commit to a full seasons play.
Here at Warped we support a number of UK teams playing at different levels and in different series.
Our "flagship" teams being the Wolverhampton based Wolf City Union, an official PA franchise team and the vehicle with which we help to promote the company on the tournament circuit. WCU comprises a number of different level teams playing as Wolf City RED, Wolf City BLUE etc coming together under the WCU banner for the PA and Millenium Series events. They are always on the lookout for new blood, are regulars at Cosford and/or work at Warped, and run annual trial days for new players. www.wolfcityunion.tk. Most of the current WCU squad moved into tournament paintball after being involved with the Warped Paintball Club.
